Learn moreProudly serving the Vista community
Vista is one of North County San Diego's most diverse and dynamic communities, known for its strong neighborhoods, growing business community, parks, arts, and family-oriented atmosphere. It is home to healthcare professionals, educators, skilled tradespeople, entrepreneurs, students, retirees, first responders, and military families.
Like communities across California, Vista has felt the impact of alcohol misuse, opioid addiction, methamphetamine use, prescription drug dependence, and rising mental health challenges. Behind many busy careers and active family lives are people quietly struggling. Seeking treatment is never easy, but it is often the first step toward reclaiming your health, relationships, and future.
Recovery begins with compassion
Many people delay asking for help because they fear judgment, embarrassment, or simply don't know what treatment involves. We understand those concerns. Addiction is not a reflection of someone's character or worth. It is a treatable medical condition that often develops gradually and touches every area of life.
Our role is not to judge anyone's past. Our purpose is to help each person build a healthier future through honest, evidence-based treatment and personalized recovery planning.
Treatment programs for Vista residents
Every person entering treatment receives a thorough clinical assessment so we can recommend the level of care that actually fits. Depending on your needs, that may be residential treatment in a structured, home-like setting, a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) with intensive day treatment, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that flexes around work, school, or family, or integrated dual diagnosis care when a mental health condition is part of the picture.
Evidence-based therapies, chosen for you
Treatment is never one-size-fits-all. Depending on each person's needs, care may include the therapies below, and every plan evolves as recovery progresses.

Frequently asked questions
Do you accept insurance?
PMR may work with PPO and POS plans that include authorized out-of-network benefits. We can explain benefits information and possible next steps based on your plan and recommended level of care. We do not accept Medicare or Medi-Cal. PMR is an in-network provider for TRICARE and TriWest. Eligibility, benefits, authorization requirements, and clinical criteria vary by plan and must be verified before admission. Coverage, authorization, admission, placement, and payment are not guaranteed.
How quickly can someone be admitted?
In many cases, same-day or next-day assessments are available depending on clinical needs and program availability. The fastest way to find out is to call or text us.
Do you treat alcohol addiction?
Yes. We treat alcohol use disorder along with opioid, stimulant, prescription medication, and many other substance use disorders, from detox through residential, PHP, IOP, and continuing care.
Do you treat mental health conditions?
Yes, when they occur alongside a substance use disorder. Our dual diagnosis approach treats addiction and co-occurring conditions like anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma together, because treating one without the other leaves people vulnerable to relapse.
Can family members participate?
Yes. Family involvement is encouraged whenever it is clinically appropriate, through family therapy, education, and ongoing communication with the treatment team. Recovery is often strongest when families heal together.
How long does treatment last?
Every treatment plan is individualized. Length of stay depends on clinical recommendations, your progress, and your personal recovery goals. Many people step down through levels of care over several months rather than finishing all at once.
Is treatment confidential?
Yes. Protecting your privacy is one of our highest priorities. Your information is protected by federal privacy law, and we do not share anything about your care without your written permission.
What if I'm not sure which level of care I need?
That is exactly what the first conversation is for. We will talk through what is going on, complete a confidential assessment, and recommend the level of care that fits your situation. No script, no pressure.
