Learn moreProudly serving the Oceanside community
Oceanside is one of North County San Diego's fastest-growing communities. Its coastline, diverse neighborhoods, strong military presence, expanding healthcare sector, and family-friendly atmosphere make it home to people from every walk of life: active-duty service members, veterans, first responders, healthcare professionals, educators, business owners, students, and young families.
The pressures of military service, career demands, financial stress, trauma, chronic pain, and untreated mental health conditions can all contribute to substance use. Many people keep functioning outwardly while privately struggling for months or years. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Hope begins with understanding
Addiction is a chronic but treatable medical condition. It changes brain function, strains relationships, affects physical and emotional health, and often leaves people feeling isolated and discouraged. Many people living with addiction also carry anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, or unresolved trauma. Treating substance use without addressing those underlying issues leaves people vulnerable to relapse.
Our approach focuses on healing the whole person, not just stopping substance use. Through evidence-based therapies and individualized planning, we help clients build the skills and confidence that lasting recovery requires.
Treatment programs for Oceanside residents
Every person entering treatment receives a thorough clinical assessment so we can recommend the level of care that actually fits. Depending on your needs, that may be residential treatment in a structured, home-like setting, a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) with intensive day treatment, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that flexes around work, school, or family, or integrated dual diagnosis care when a mental health condition is part of the picture.
Evidence-based therapies, chosen for you
Treatment is never one-size-fits-all. Depending on each person's needs, care may include the therapies below, and every plan evolves as recovery progresses.

Most Oceanside residents can reach our facilities in roughly 20 to 25 minutes, close enough for loved ones to join family sessions, treatment planning meetings, and the rest of the recovery process.
Why Oceanside families choose Present Moments Recovery
Oceanside families choose Present Moments Recovery because they want more than a treatment program; they want individualized care from people who genuinely understand recovery. Our small size lets us build real therapeutic relationships. Every client is treated as an individual, not a diagnosis.
As a veteran-owned program, we also understand the particular weight that military service, deployment, and transition to civilian life can carry.
Begin with one conversation
Whether you're seeking help for yourself or someone you love, recovery begins with a single conversation. Call or Text (619) 363-4767. No pressure, just a conversation about what's going on and what could help.
Frequently asked questions
Do you accept insurance?
PMR may work with PPO and POS plans that include authorized out-of-network benefits. We can explain benefits information and possible next steps based on your plan and recommended level of care. We do not accept Medicare or Medi-Cal. PMR is an in-network provider for TRICARE and TriWest. Eligibility, benefits, authorization requirements, and clinical criteria vary by plan and must be verified before admission. Coverage, authorization, admission, placement, and payment are not guaranteed.
How quickly can someone be admitted?
In many cases, same-day or next-day assessments are available depending on clinical needs and program availability. The fastest way to find out is to call or text us.
Do you treat alcohol addiction?
Yes. We treat alcohol use disorder along with opioid, stimulant, prescription medication, and many other substance use disorders, from detox through residential, PHP, IOP, and continuing care.
Do you treat mental health conditions?
Yes, when they occur alongside a substance use disorder. Our dual diagnosis approach treats addiction and co-occurring conditions like anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma together, because treating one without the other leaves people vulnerable to relapse.
Can family members participate?
Yes. Family involvement is encouraged whenever it is clinically appropriate, through family therapy, education, and ongoing communication with the treatment team. Recovery is often strongest when families heal together.
Do you provide treatment for veterans or military families?
We welcome veterans and military families, and Present Moments Recovery is veteran-owned. PMR is an in-network provider for TRICARE and TriWest. Eligibility, benefits, authorization requirements, and clinical criteria vary by plan and must be verified before admission. Coverage, authorization, admission, placement, and payment are not guaranteed. Call or text us and we can talk through your coverage and options honestly.
How long does treatment last?
Every treatment plan is individualized. Length of stay depends on clinical recommendations, your progress, and your personal recovery goals. Many people step down through levels of care over several months rather than finishing all at once.
Is treatment confidential?
Yes. Protecting your privacy is one of our highest priorities. Your information is protected by federal privacy law, and we do not share anything about your care without your written permission.
What if I'm not sure which level of care I need?
That is exactly what the first conversation is for. We will talk through what is going on, complete a confidential assessment, and recommend the level of care that fits your situation. No script, no pressure.
