Learn moreProudly serving the Escondido community
Escondido is one of the largest and most diverse communities in North County San Diego. Its rich history, vibrant neighborhoods, expanding healthcare system, wineries, schools, and family-oriented atmosphere make it home to people from many different backgrounds: healthcare professionals, educators, business owners, first responders, veterans, students, retirees, and families who have called Escondido home for generations.
Like communities across California, Escondido continues to feel the effects of alcohol misuse, opioid and fentanyl addiction, methamphetamine use, prescription medication dependence, and co-occurring mental health conditions. These challenges don't discriminate by age, profession, education, or income. Recovery often begins with one conversation and the willingness to accept help.
Healing the whole person
Substance use disorders affect much more than physical health. They impact emotional well-being, relationships, financial stability, confidence, work, and quality of life. Many people also carry anxiety, depression, unresolved trauma, grief, or chronic stress alongside addiction. Lasting recovery means addressing those underlying issues, not just the substance use.
Our goal is not simply sobriety. Our goal is helping people build lives they genuinely enjoy living.
Treatment programs for Escondido residents
Every person entering treatment receives a thorough clinical assessment so we can recommend the level of care that actually fits. Depending on your needs, that may be residential treatment in a structured, home-like setting, a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) with intensive day treatment, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that flexes around work, school, or family, or integrated dual diagnosis care when a mental health condition is part of the picture.
Evidence-based therapies, chosen for you
Treatment is never one-size-fits-all. Depending on each person's needs, care may include the therapies below, and every plan evolves as recovery progresses.

Why Escondido families choose Present Moments Recovery
Escondido families choose Present Moments Recovery because they want individualized care in a small, supportive environment. Rather than following a standardized approach, we build treatment plans around each client's history, strengths, challenges, and goals, and we adjust them as recovery progresses.
Begin with one conversation
Whether you're seeking help for yourself or someone you love, recovery begins with a single conversation. Call or Text (619) 363-4767. No pressure, just a conversation about what's going on and what could help.
Frequently asked questions
Do you accept insurance?
PMR may work with PPO and POS plans that include authorized out-of-network benefits. We can explain benefits information and possible next steps based on your plan and recommended level of care. We do not accept Medicare or Medi-Cal. PMR is an in-network provider for TRICARE and TriWest. Eligibility, benefits, authorization requirements, and clinical criteria vary by plan and must be verified before admission. Coverage, authorization, admission, placement, and payment are not guaranteed.
How quickly can someone be admitted?
In many cases, same-day or next-day assessments are available depending on clinical needs and program availability. The fastest way to find out is to call or text us.
Do you treat alcohol addiction?
Yes. We treat alcohol use disorder along with opioid, stimulant, prescription medication, and many other substance use disorders, from detox through residential, PHP, IOP, and continuing care.
Do you treat mental health conditions?
Yes, when they occur alongside a substance use disorder. Our dual diagnosis approach treats addiction and co-occurring conditions like anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma together, because treating one without the other leaves people vulnerable to relapse.
Can family members participate?
Yes. Family involvement is encouraged whenever it is clinically appropriate, through family therapy, education, and ongoing communication with the treatment team. Recovery is often strongest when families heal together.
How long does treatment last?
Every treatment plan is individualized. Length of stay depends on clinical recommendations, your progress, and your personal recovery goals. Many people step down through levels of care over several months rather than finishing all at once.
Is treatment confidential?
Yes. Protecting your privacy is one of our highest priorities. Your information is protected by federal privacy law, and we do not share anything about your care without your written permission.
What if I'm not sure which level of care I need?
That is exactly what the first conversation is for. We will talk through what is going on, complete a confidential assessment, and recommend the level of care that fits your situation. No script, no pressure.
