Learn moreProudly serving the Del Mar community
Del Mar is known for its beautiful coastline, welcoming neighborhoods, world-famous racetrack, vibrant village, and exceptional quality of life. It is home to professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, retirees, healthcare leaders, and families.
Yet even in communities known for success and wellness, addiction and mental health conditions remain a reality. Chronic stress, professional pressure, anxiety, depression, unresolved trauma, and prescription medication dependence often develop quietly over time, and many people become skilled at hiding their struggles while meeting the expectations of work, family, and community.
Addiction can affect anyone
Addiction does not discriminate. It affects people regardless of education, financial success, career achievement, or social standing. Some develop alcohol dependence after years of drinking to manage stress. Others become dependent on prescription medications after surgery or chronic pain. Still others struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, or burnout that gradually leads to unhealthy coping.
Recovery begins by recognizing that addiction is a treatable medical condition, not a personal failure. Our role is to provide the clinical expertise and steady support needed to help people regain control of their lives.
Treatment programs for Del Mar residents
Every person entering treatment receives a thorough clinical assessment so we can recommend the level of care that actually fits. Depending on your needs, that may be residential treatment in a structured, home-like setting, a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) with intensive day treatment, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that flexes around work, school, or family, or integrated dual diagnosis care when a mental health condition is part of the picture.
Evidence-based therapies, chosen for you
Treatment is never one-size-fits-all. Depending on each person's needs, care may include the therapies below, and every plan evolves as recovery progresses.

Why Del Mar families choose Present Moments Recovery
Del Mar individuals and families often want exceptional clinical care paired with privacy and individualized attention. Our small treatment model allows us to build meaningful therapeutic relationships and shape care around each person's circumstances, without ever treating clients as diagnoses or numbers.

Frequently asked questions
Do you accept insurance?
PMR may work with PPO and POS plans that include authorized out-of-network benefits. We can explain benefits information and possible next steps based on your plan and recommended level of care. We do not accept Medicare or Medi-Cal. PMR is an in-network provider for TRICARE and TriWest. Eligibility, benefits, authorization requirements, and clinical criteria vary by plan and must be verified before admission. Coverage, authorization, admission, placement, and payment are not guaranteed.
How quickly can someone be admitted?
In many cases, same-day or next-day assessments are available depending on clinical needs and program availability. The fastest way to find out is to call or text us.
Do you treat alcohol addiction?
Yes. We treat alcohol use disorder along with opioid, stimulant, prescription medication, and many other substance use disorders, from detox through residential, PHP, IOP, and continuing care.
Do you treat mental health conditions?
Yes, when they occur alongside a substance use disorder. Our dual diagnosis approach treats addiction and co-occurring conditions like anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma together, because treating one without the other leaves people vulnerable to relapse.
Can family members participate?
Yes. Family involvement is encouraged whenever it is clinically appropriate, through family therapy, education, and ongoing communication with the treatment team. Recovery is often strongest when families heal together.
How long does treatment last?
Every treatment plan is individualized. Length of stay depends on clinical recommendations, your progress, and your personal recovery goals. Many people step down through levels of care over several months rather than finishing all at once.
Is treatment confidential?
Yes. Protecting your privacy is one of our highest priorities. Your information is protected by federal privacy law, and we do not share anything about your care without your written permission.
What if I'm not sure which level of care I need?
That is exactly what the first conversation is for. We will talk through what is going on, complete a confidential assessment, and recommend the level of care that fits your situation. No script, no pressure.
