The pattern of symptoms looks like other opioid withdrawal, muscle aches, nausea, sweating, anxiety, insomnia, and strong cravings, but the intensity is part of why people struggle to stop without help. Medical monitoring and medication can make that stretch survivable.
How fentanyl detox works at PMR
We begin with a medical and clinical assessment. Our Medical Director reviews the person’s fentanyl use, medical background, current withdrawal symptoms, and mental health concerns, then establishes the orders that guide care. Medication may be used when prescribed and clinically appropriate. Our staff follow physician orders, observe and document symptoms within their roles, communicate changes, and escalate concerns when necessary. Fentanyl withdrawal management at PMR is generally about 10–15 days, but the physician’s recommendation depends on the individual and their response to care.
